You'll Know What's Happening. Every Step. No Guesswork Required.

From your first intake form to your final pickup notification, the Gilbert Imports process is digital, transparent, and completely on your terms — no surprises, no runaround, no repair work you didn't authorize.

Here's Exactly What Happens When You Bring Your Vehicle to Gilbert Imports

Most auto repair experiences feel like something that happens to you. You drop off your car, you wait, and eventually someone calls with a number. Maybe it matches what you expected. Maybe it doesn't. Maybe work was already started before you had the chance to ask a question. That model of auto service exists because shops built it that way — not because it's the right way. At Gilbert Imports, the process was designed around the customer from the ground up, because transparency and communication aren't optional features of good service. They're the foundation of it.

Every step in the Gilbert Imports process is intentional. Digital intake means we're prepared before you arrive. Itemized estimates mean you know exactly what you're agreeing to. Digital authorization means nothing starts without your explicit sign-off. And direct communication means you hear from someone who actually touched your vehicle — not a relay of information passed through three people before it reaches you. This is what it looks like when a shop takes the customer experience as seriously as the repair itself.

Step 1 — Complete Your Intake Form

Before your vehicle arrives, you fill out our online intake form — it takes about three minutes. The form captures your vehicle's year, make, model, mileage, current concerns, and any service history notes you want us to know about. This isn't just paperwork for our files; it's preparation. By the time you pull into the lot, your assigned technician has already reviewed your submission and knows what to look for. That means less time at drop-off explaining yourself and a more focused, efficient inspection from the start. Start Your Intake Form →

Step 2 — Drop Off & Initial Inspection

When you arrive, a team member walks through your intake form with you, confirms your concerns, and answers any questions you have before your vehicle is logged in. Your vehicle is then assigned to the technician most experienced with your specific make — not whoever is available, but whoever is best suited. From there, a thorough visual and diagnostic inspection is performed. Not a quick once-over and a guess — a real inspection that identifies what's happening, what caused it, and what it will take to fix it correctly. We don't move forward until we have a clear, accurate picture of your vehicle's condition.

Step 3 — Receive Your Estimate

After inspection, you receive a clear, itemized estimate delivered digitally — parts, labor, and timeline, broken out line by line. No jargon, no vague "diagnostic time" charges without explanation, and no inflated padding. If the inspection turns up concerns beyond the original scope of your visit, those items are added to the estimate separately, labeled clearly, and explained before any decision is required of you. You will never be presented with a bill that includes work you didn't know was being done. The estimate you see is the repair you choose — full stop.

Step 4 — Authorization

Before any work begins, you authorize the repair. This is not a formality at Gilbert Imports — it is a non-negotiable part of how we operate. The authorization captures the full scope of approved work, the agreed estimate, and your explicit acknowledgment. If something changes mid-repair that requires a scope adjustment, you're contacted and a revised authorization is issued before work continues.

Step 5 — Service & Quality Check

Work is performed by the technician assigned to your vehicle from the start — no handoffs halfway through, no passing it down the line to whoever has a free bay. Your vehicle stays with one technician who is accountable for the outcome from start to finish. When service is complete, a quality review is performed before your vehicle is cleared for pickup. Every repair is verified against the approved scope, and every system involved is checked to confirm it's functioning as expected. If anything comes up during service that changes the picture, you are contacted immediately — not after the invoice is printed.

Step 6 — Pickup & Follow-Up

When your vehicle is ready, you're notified with a complete summary of work performed — parts used, labor completed, and any observations or recommendations for future service intervals. Pickup is clean and pressure-free: no last-minute service add-ons pitched at the counter, no vague "you might want to think about..." suggestions designed to bring you back sooner than necessary. After your visit, Gilbert Imports may follow up to confirm everything is performing as expected. That follow-up isn't automated — it's genuine accountability from a shop that wants your experience to hold up past the parking lot.
